Ignition issue!

I am doing my carb setup and i got everything worked out i just need to know how to make the starter work with the key now that there is no wiring harness. My question is where does the starter and the ignition tie in together? thanks

run a wire from the ign. switch to the switch side of the starter. not sure of the color of the wire but i can look in my manual and tell u. it has to be the one thats hot in start only.
