My blown '02 GT (402 rwhp, 408 rwtq) ran 25+ passes launching at 5K rpms on MT ET Street radials, best 60' was 1.663 with stock axles and carrier, and Motive 4.10 gears, not a single problem. My '97 Cobra ran serveral passes with the same tires on a 125 shot, bone stock rear, without a hitch. It then ran on nitrous with 4.30's for a while, no problem. I sold the nitrous kit and a few weeks later I broke an axle on an NA pass. A few weeks later I upgraded to 31-spline Moser axles and an FRPP carrier, and wound up breaking the ring gear.
IMO the rear is definetely the weak link when it come to drag racing and hard launching, but I'm not really familiar with the 94-95 transmissions.
Its also hit or miss for whether you will break anything or not. Some people do and some dont. There is no set formula for if your making XXX power and are using XXX tires that you will break something.
The T5's transmissions are also hit or miss, some people pound the hell out of them and dont break them, others are not so lucky. It is pretty much agreed upon that they dont like power shifting.
