The 8.8 is really hit or miss. My blown '02 GT (402 rwhp, 408 rwtq) ran 25+ passes launching at 5K rpms on MT ET Street radials, best 60' was 1.663 with stock axles and carrier, and Motive 4.10 gears, not a single problem. My '97 Cobra ran serveral passes with the same tires on a 125 shot, bone stock rear, without a hitch. It then ran on nitrous with 4.30's for a while, no problem. I sold the nitrous kit and a few weeks later I broke an axle on an NA pass. A few weeks later I upgraded to 31-spline Moser axles and an FRPP carrier, and wound up breaking the ring gear.

IMO the rear is definetely the weak link when it come to drag racing and hard launching, but I'm not really familiar with the 94-95 transmissions.

Its also hit or miss for whether you will break anything or not. Some people do and some dont. There is no set formula for if your making XXX power and are using XXX tires that you will break something.

The T5's transmissions are also hit or miss, some people pound the hell out of them and dont break them, others are not so lucky. It is pretty much agreed upon that they dont like power shifting.

Your statement is ridiculous. You can break parts with any tires.

Saying you can break parts with one drag radial and not another is absurd.

Paul read my last post, you just like to argue about anything, that's your problem, You read posts to literally.

All Im trying to say is that chances are with Nitto's you prob wont break anything unless you have a lot of mods done, considering he's mostly stock I wouldnt worry to much about it.

Your chances of breaking anything WITH ANY TIRE when you're mostly stock are minimal.

I don't like to argue about anything, but I call BS when I see it. Period.

Its not BS is an opinion. No one can say what amount of mods or lack there of combined w/ which tires will or will not break anything. Nothing you have said is anymore opinion then anything I have. Your word is not gospel while mine or anyone else's means crap, get off your high horse.

You wont break anything using Nitto's they dont grab hard enough unless you have some amazing track prep and you dump it at 5,000 RPMS

I upgraded to 31 spline axles last summer b/c I knew I was switching to MT DR's and I may have been fine but I didnt want to chance it being an hr and 20 mins away from home when at the track. Now I just launch the car hard w/ out any worries, so far the Tremec and rear end have held up fine. Hopefully that continues after the new mods.
