instrument clusters interchangeable?

I'm looking to swap to the all-black MGT gauge cluster. I personally just think the Cobra white face gauges, especially our years that do not say SVT on them, look stupid with an otherwise all-black interior.

Dimensionally, any from a 94-98 Mustang should work. I cannot use one from a 6 cylinder car or the tachometer wouldn't work. The speedometer should work correctly, and with the new 4.30 gears I could care less about the less max mph. Supposedly the oil pressure gauges are wired slightly differently in a 96 and 97-98, but they are interchangeable and it will still function correctly as it is only a dummy gauge.

Has anyone put a 94-95 GT cluster in a 98 Cobra and confirmed all instruments work correctly?
Or does anyone with a 97-98 MGT on here (stick) want to trade me for mine + cash?

I know a darkfish from corral installed a 98 cobra cluster in a 95 i dont know why the 94- wont work in a 98? :dontknow:

I had some pictures when I did mine but I seem to have lost them. Its not to difficult, all you do is take the two clusters apart, swap in your odometer section (to keep the correct miles) and when you put the cobra cluster back together use your "plastic" circuit, and little circuit cards that pop out of the back. Also you will have to mod a couple of the indicator lights, like the low coolant and seat belt warning, you can tell by looking at them, which ever ones are swapped from cluster to cluster. This just involves soldering two wires, no big deal. Now, this is for a 96-98 cobra cluster, a 94-45 should be a direct swap.
