so i have a cobra intake manifold from a 1996, and im just wondering whats a popular color to powder coat these? im going to be selling it and just looking for some advice. i would leave it as is but it has some minor paint defects and would like to get as much possible. or would it be more worth it to leave them the way they are.

I say leave it as is. If you powder coat it not only do you have to pay to get it coated but youre also limiting potential buyers that need a b head intake but like the color that it is.

not sure I agree. With it cosmetically damaged you will have to take less for it and just like there are some people that do not want a newly powdered intake there are others that want it done ready to bolt on and do not want it damaged. I think I have seen more that were just the stock/silver color then anything but a nice simple black always looks good and clean.

True but how much would powder coating cost? If its not much it could be worth it but I dont see the cost of powder coating being worth the extra cash the intake is worth.

Powdercoating aluminum means an acid dip to rid all oxidation. Another consideration to think about.

Take a dremel and wire wheel and go to town. Should brighten up real nice for a picture, but will eventually dull. Could clear coat after wire wheeling it.

Powder coating will not be much, my uncle has the sand blaster and stuff to powder and oven. He’s already said I can use anything I need but I’ll just have to buy the powder if he doesn’t have it

in that case then do it for sure. I would still recommend black or silver just to open it up to as many buyers as possible.

You might be better off advertising that you could make it what ever color the buyer wants it to be if he gives you a week or two to do it.
