Intake Manifold cracked 97 GT

So my intake manifold cracked a few days ago, just wondering does the intake manifold of 99-04 PI mounts directly to my 97 NPI motor?

Does anybody else had this problem? After looking it up, it seems it is a common thing. The crack is located behind the alternator, I've heard Ford did actually fix this problem for free, but isn't that just if the car is still in warranty?

I don't want to buy the intake manifold of a new edge if it doesn't fit...

Plently of threads on here about how to swap the 99-04 intake on to a 96-98. Just do a search :thumbsup:

Not a simple bolt on but still a very easy conversion to go PI

Myself as well as tons of guys here have done it successfully

It will fit. I had a PI intake on my npi heads long before I did a full PI swap. All you have to do is change the coolant tube that runs through the valley to a PI or you can run a flexible coolant hose (as I did, if you're short on cash) to the hose that runs to your heater core. Don't forget to get plenty of silicone though to seal up the coolant jackets or they WILL leak. Other than that you should be fine!

If you follow the intake manifold gasket rtv pattern you will have no problems! and your car wont choke from 3500-RED as much..

if i were you i would do pi heads/cams/intake at the same time, your car will go night to day bro.
