I picked up a 1/2" on off of Ebay for $20 shipped. I'm not planning on taking it to the dyno to see the difference but if it helps a little great if not it doesn't hurt. In retrospect, it does help probably very minimal, by adding volume thats present in the intake manifold. It is not worth it if your going to buy one for more than $20, like some people i have seen want around $60 for theirs and its not worth that money.

Good Luck, hope this helped.

Yea, I was just curious. I wasn't planning on getting one, mainly because I've always thought they were a scam, but I didn't know for sure...

most of the upper plenums for the 4.6 with the plastic intakes are raised already by 3/4 inch.

Really? I thought the plastic intakes were only for cracking and making huge messes :wall:?

i think you may have misunderstood me. the upper plenums that most companies sell raise about 3/4 of an in. i have the pro products, and whom i seen with the upr big mouth and dragon plenums rub the strut tower brace cause its raised. its like having A intake spacer. without the "helix" effect. :happydrunks:

Im not sure if its comparing apples to oranges when it comes to the 4.6 VS the 5.0 but I'll take a stab at it.

I might be able to get away w/ no spacer but I probably wont be able to but from what Ive been told your upper intake temps may be lower but increasing the running length by putting the spacer on will effect low end TQ. Im not really to concerned about it. If I can run it w/ out the spacer Id like to be able to do a dyno run w/ it on just to see if there are any significant changes. Most likely I'll have to run it w/ it but it would be a cool experiment.

I did have a friend that did this on his 01 Cobra and it liked it more w/ out a spacer.
