ipod hook up for '01 mustang

i have a 2001 mustang with the mach460 cd changer. im wanting to hook up an ipod and keep my factory headunit. ive heard the fm transmitters arent that great, so what do you guys sugggest?

They also Sell kits you can buy that hook up into your vehicle at Best Buy. They run a little pricey but you can also get it to have a flush mount auxiliary input. If you wanna know more let me know.

i bought a sterio that has an AUX hook up out back, went to radio shack on got the cabe to bring the plug out to the front, drilled a hole in the bottom storage area and ran the cabe through that. now i can plug my sterio into any headphone jack.

That works too. Keep in mind that it wont charge and play your IPOD through the Aux jack.

very true. i got a cigarette lighter adaptor for that... its my cell phone, so it has a headphone jack and teh charging port. so it works great in the car :D

my radio has a USB port on the back, so i just routed my Ipod's Sync cable through the glove box. my Ipod never leaves the glove box and stays charged. Direct Ipod Controls FTMFW!

I used to have this setup, ftw. Works like a champ and charges the ipod. Best of all worlds
