So i have been experiencing some ignition failure issues, so what better way to have an excuse for more power. My question is that i have been reading horrible reviews on the MSD 6AL box and im wondering what your experiences are with this? Or even the MSD Digital 6?
My mods are as follows for 95 GT:
-308 short block, cobra crank, kieth black pistons
-GT40P Fully ported heads (i know, i know, i got cheap on the heads)
-Trickflow trackheat upper and lower
-Still running 19lb injectors w/ 255lph pump
-BBK CIA
-Msd blaster coil w/ frpp 9mm wires

I thinks thats all you need to help me. Also MSD requires you not to use solid core spark plug wires, what does this mean?

Ive used the digital 6 before and never had any problems and I really liked it for the features it had but only ran it for a 6 months before I sold that car so I cant say how they hold up....I run a old crane HI6R now on my fox w/ a timing controller and Ive used it on 3 different cars that Ive owned in the past.

i've got a 6al on 2 cars, never had any problems. are you sure your ign problem isnt something in the coil or wires? my blaster coil was arcing like a SOB, crank her up tonight and see if you see any blue sparks from wires or coil.

We pretty much discovered that my distributor has failed. So that needs to be replaced, i will probably go with a stock replacement. Great news though, I happen to find a 6AL box on craigslist for $150, turns out that its one of my buddies from the local mustang club and he is giving it to me for $100. Gonna pick it up tonight and i figure it cant hurt.

MSD is not what it used to be..I prefer Mallory but for $100 I would take it.

Just to give an update- pulled the dizzy and there was almost a half inch of carbon build up at the bottom. Replaced that and added my new Msd 6al i got last night and my car is a monster on the streets now (its spins my 10.5 inch tires through third now). So for everyone thats having jerking or studdering problems like i was, dont overlook the distibutor going bad.
