Yes, FI is the way to go. I only built the motor because I'm a fan of n/a. These blocks and cranks are incredibly strong though.
I'd shy away from the fox. Too much work to get it street legal. The Cobra listing won't come up for me.
Justin - My 100% stock 3.8L (2000) dyno'd 160/200 @ wheels the first time I strapped it to the rollers. It had a touch over 100,000 miles on it at that point. From what I've seen it's on par with most other V6s of that generation. Modified changes the game. The V6 with "all the bolt ons" will scoop up a whopping 5-7 rwhp for a thousand dollars spent. Better money is spent on forced induction for those motors.
MustangChris made like 194 in his NPI with full bolt ons? (not trying to be a douche Chris, just making a statement)
on 93 octane I'd beliebe it lol. I think Ferocious was at 150 or so with his
I ran mid-grade in my mustang. it called for low-grade, but that's because our numbers are nutty here in Colorado. lol.
But 160 rwhp? Ive seen npi cars do like 190-200 rwhp in stock form and even some guys showing 200-210 (but that seems a bit much to me)and 260-280 tq. Nothing special but certainly a large increase over 160/200.
So I don't see how your statement that a 99-04 3.8 dynos the same HP or even higher as a npi is accurate is all.
