Ummmm its a black hard rubber piece inside the spring i dont remember being there.

Yep its normal. Stock ones are made of a polyurethane type material. Im not quite sure what the purpose of them are but i think they may do some isolating to combat suspension noise.

Yeah.. it's normal. But like he said, I don't know why they're there. I've always wondered that.
