Sweet thanks for the info Justin...I'll probably start the install in March/April once I collect everything else that I need.

Yea man, let me know if you need any help with anything cause ive been through a lot of shit over the past few years with blowers on this car.

I would be happy to lend you a hand putting it on if you wanted to come down to Delaware if your even still local.

I can put vortech kits on with my eyes closed now in a few hours.

Your kit being non intercooled and self contained is extremely simple so I figure you can handle it anyway.

Yea it'll be a relatively straightforward install...I'm going to tackle it in NJ with a couple buddies of mine, but I'm sure I'll be bouncing a few ideas off of you.

Yea, your pretty much just pulling off the intake and bolt on a bracket and the new piping.

The injectors are very easy, the only problem I had was getting the fuel pump out of the tank. lol I had to take it to a shop with a lift to get it out.

Yea the pump will be a pain...but not terrible. Hopefully Mike's dad (Stprolla) will have his new garage/lift finished in time for the season and Mike and I can do our installs there...*cough cough* Mike *cough cough* :)

I think justin will agree with me that installing a supercharger without a I/C system is wasting time.

I do agree 100%...lol

You will just save yourself money in the long run. You can put together the xs intercooler kit and do the piping your self very cheap nowadays.

It will help prevent detonation which is the biggest concern with boosting these motors so you will make your setup a lot safer and make more power at the same time.

Your gonna end up paying to get the car retuned and paying for new parts in the future once you get tired of this and want more power and go to add an intercooler and believe me...it will happen a lot sooner than you think.

Its obviously up to you in the end but personally, I would say to SERIOUSLY consider getting yourself hooked up with that xs racing FMIC kit and do the 05+ slot style sensor with the blow through setup.

You may spend a little more now, but it may save you money in the future and possibly your motor.

I guess if you seriously think you will NEVER add a FMIC then disregard this.

I think if you head over on corral.net and post this a LOT of guys running 700+ hp setups with no intercooler and meth may have something to say lol

But are those actually street cars or straight drag cars?

Night and day differences between a car that rolls off a trailer and makes a pass and a car that is being driven for hours.

I have a feeling Jon is not building a drag car so a FMIC would be the way to go IMO.

Meth will work if thats what he wants to do but personally, I prefer an intercooler on a street car.

Is a nice meth kit actually cheaper than a 250 dollar xs intercooler kit?

My car isn't a race car...or a street warrior...its a weekender. Barely rolled 300 miles last year...so I don't see major issues with whatever setup I go for. I'll definitely drive it more this season...last year it was under the knife all the time.

Yea, im just saying on those weekends when your cruising where ever, a FMIC will keep those IATS down when your blower starts getting heat soaked.

Either way, its your ride and you will do what you want to do with it.

If you plan on doing a FMIC in the future you might as well do it now is my point.

JB you sold the TL? congrats dude. Mo mod money!
Well not completely yet...selling it back to the dealer on Wednesday...I'm not going to make a penny on it since I still owe a decent amount. Should come out clean and even though. I just want it gone...car payment and insurance on a car you don't drive is not cool.

meth setups arent for solely drag setups at all. I have two buddies that are in the 600hp range with no i/c and they have weekend warriors. That crappy core $250 intercooler will be restrictive as hell once you really want to try to push some good power

I understand that but IMO it just seems better to always have a intercooler cooling down the air going into the engine and not worrying about running out of meth or the system not working etc.

Its all a matter or preference.

Ive never heard of the xs intercooler being restrictive and it probably uses the exact same core as any high dollar brand name. Have you actually had people say that the xs racing intercooler restricted their setup? lol

I dont think he will be worrying about that being a restriction anytime soon...hes got a stock motor. lol

thats the cx racing core correct? If so, there are multiple posts about guys losing upwards of 5psi ...which is just inefficient and completely pointless. I can see going with a treadstone core, procharger or paxton...but ive seen too many times guys that go with those junk i/c's and end up changing them out for a vertical core...you get what you pay for
