Yea, keep it civic guys.

I did some quick research on vortech IATS and it seems like in the summer heat people are seeing temps approaching 200 degrees vs temps being roughly 20-30 degrees above ambient with an A/A intercooler.

So even on a 90 degree day, you could be seeing IATS of 110-120 rather than 200 degrees.

I can only imagine how hot a non intercooled KB would get. lol

As you have said, its your car and you will do what you want and obviously you can get away with no intercooler but it will get heat soaked and yank a lot of power on warmer days.

Well maybe I can tell you lol. Im running 9psi Kb straight up and my intake air temps were around 220 degrees, if you let the car idle it would drop to 200-210 because air moving through it cools it off.

The meth shouldnt hurt anything, im just going to be using washer fluid out of my washer fluid tank. I did relocate my IAT sensor from the cold air intake to the lower intake manifold like the fox cars so I know exactly how hot the air is entering my engine. To my knowledge you dont have to spray it before the maf though.

Gotcha, well FYI, the 05+ MAF sensors have the IAT built into them, and I wouldn't really want to spray meth on my MAF sensor cause they can be really sensitive. I run the 05+ hpx sensor in my car so I cant relocate my IAT :(

Thats a perfect example. of the IATS im talking about with a PD blower.

Im really not sure 100% what the difference between 220 and 120 temps would because theres a lot of variables but ive heard 1% hp loss for every 10 degrees....so that means 10% hp loss which means if your making 400 rwhp, it would knock you down to 360 rwhp.

Sounds about right to me.

High IATS are bad news...

2 huge reasons, power is reduced obviously and the chance for detonation rises exponentially.

The detonation thing is especially a concern when your on the stock bottom end.

I guess it works fune, just cant run any timing.

I'm done with this thread, no point in getting involved in pissing matches with guys who try to provide info on things they don't know anything about or who think a kenne belld 2 valve is rare...

Even if a 2v KB setup was rare, its not like that would give handz some amazing insight into the world of superchargers.

Its a pretty simple concept. Engines are air pumps, the more air and fuel you can cram into the motor, the more power it will make.

Centri, roots, twin screw, turbo all do the same thing and that is compress air and force it into the motor to make more power

I think the biggest reason you dont see KBs around here is because KB stopped making a NPI kit a long time ago and the are impossible to find for a NPI car + you can do a vortech kit for a fraction of the price.

How much did you end up spending on that KB kit Handz?
