Looks good. Are those flipped BBK's? Debating on buying a used set for my kit or using the old stock manifolds I've got laying in the garage

thanks and yeah holsets are really a great starter setup because they put out great power and... are super cheap, as well as a very durable turbo as well.. they are on diesels for a reason, and diesels are designed to be workhorses and or some have been million mile turbos..great starting point..

If you wanted to change over to, lets say a Master Power T70 (Just a hypothetical question, not saying its an upgrade) what all would have to be changed on your kit thats setup for the Holset?

i used an adapter to make the holset take a -4an feed line and the return was standard -10an..,now the downpipe would need whatever flange of whatever turbo you choose as well...

Just noticed I used "anything" alot in that last post. Are the HE351VE's not variable vane? If they are how are you controlling that

he351ve's are variable vane.. i set the vanes to when i wanted it to spool.. i have it set to where i see boost at 2800 rpm.. i just opened it all the way and slowly closed them more and more each pass i made in the car.. then once i liked where the boost start point was.. i marked it and tack welded it in place... i am now using a 46mm external wastegate to control the boost and an electronic boost controller that controlls boost per gear.. in 1st or in launch mode.. i hit 4.5 psi then in second and throughout its at 10 psi.. or it works great just off of the wastegate as well... you can do what i did.. find your sweet spot, tack it there, and control the boost externally and it wont fall off, and will keep power throught the whole rpm range.. thats why a large external gate is beautiful on these turbos..
