Ok guys.. I have been agonizing over this decision for what seems like forever now and I just can't get much usable feedback at all.

Let me make this clear. I do not want to go with Coil overs, not yet anyway. I want to have the ability to run stock-style springs. My car isn't a drag car, Yes I like to take it to the strip quite a bit, but I want my car to be multi-functional, not just go in a straight line.

I have been trying to decide between:

QA1 K-Member - http://www.cjponyparts.com/qa1-tubular-k-member-4.6l-1996-2004/p/KM6/

I've had people tell me "Yeah they're great!" and other say "Beware, they're not made in the USA!" But what really is anymore?

PA Racing K-Member - http://www.paracing.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=30_56&products_id=144

This one has a lot of options, it's built to your specs, plus you can get it powdercoated silver, which is cool.. But is it a quality product?! I've Emailed PA and they guarantee that their K-Member can support spirited driving including AutoX and Open track up to 800HP, but no one else seems to really have any opinions. The price is right, and it seems like a good product..

And Finally..

AJE Racing K-Member
- http://www.ajeracing.com/mustang.php

I've had a few positive responses, but nothing really concrete, plus it is more expensive because I believe that you HAVE to buy their A-Arms and spring perches, which is not what I was wanting to do..I have sent AJE an Email to verify their pricing and what all I would actually have to purchase to make their kit work for me, probably won't hear back from them until tomorrow.

Thanks for the help guys.. I'm hoping to get this purchased tomorrow or Monday, but I am willing to wait to make sure that I buy it ONCE and don't make a poor decision.

I have the PA Racing one in my car, I bought it from a dealer's tent at the World Street Nationals race a few years ago. It is AWESOME! So much easier to work on stuff, especially the headers or anything down there.

Plus it weighs literally about 30 lbs less than stock

I've bought a couple from QA1. That was years ago. Really like them. Still have one. I Hadn't heard that they weren't making them anymore.
I had a PA and it was a good quality piece.
I have only heard/read good things about Team Z.
First one I bought was a UPR. The welds were so bad I wouldn't use it.

What about Maximum Motorsports? They are expensive, but hands down the strongest built that I have seen.

I'll be making my own in the very near future.

Don't forget GMS. It's a great K-member for the money. I have it and love it.

The cool thing is these K's aren't meant for the
"yo homie I got me a K member this shits be awesome look at it" type of people. So not a lot of people know about them and its nice, keeps quality up and only the true racers or people who know what they want using them.

Dave is awesome, hes is a racer, supports racers and does what we need. He has the option of adding tow hooks to the k to make it easier on us when we break or put it to the trailer ect. Team Z has a great following from NMRA, NMCA and some of the other circuits. Great products and I cant say enough about the people employed there.

Looks like the problem with Team Z is the fact that I don't want to run coil overs and it looks like that is a must to run his kit. Sent them an Email to make sure, but that seems to be the case based on the options online.

I got an Email back from AJE and their setup is about $400 + shipping, so I'm starting to lean heavily towards the PA Racing unit.

i want a k that i can run on the street. since most of my driving is on the highway and street. i have a QA1 in the garage but im not sure about it. i do have GMS coilovers and aside from what people say they have infact held up to the street beating of baltimore's craptastic streets. i may use their k and sell my QA1. my reason of swapping to an aftermarket instead of factory is because when i get under the car, i have ease of adjustments.

Just ordered the PA Racing setup. Plain and simply, it was the least complicated option. Less expensive than the AJE, but I believe that the quality will be the same. They both have the ability to be used with stock A-Arms or aftermarket coil over setups. The other thing that bothered me about the AJE piece is that the perches and motor mounts were bolt-on options, not welded... That was kind of funky.

Paid a total of $334.95 shipped for the PA compared to what would have been $428 with AJE.

I just wanted to mention that the guys at PA Racing have been very courteous in helping me make my decision. They have responded within a very acceptable amount of time to all of my Email questions, I even got an Email response from them tonight at 8PM. So if their product is as good as their customer service, I expect to be an extremely satisfied and repeat customer.

I want to piece my suspension with everything from MM. How much of a difference is there in between the MM k-member, lower a-arms, and coil over kit ($1369-$1469) vs the z matrix package ($700+) or the chromoly ($900+)

The price that's about it. No doubt MM makes top notch stuff but you have to pay for it b/c of the name. Team Z is on the same level of quality as MM. Save some money and go with the Team Z set up. You dont need a chrome molly K member.

Do Team Z have any roadcourse time among their users? There are a lot of drag racing K members out there that I wouldn't trust putting my car sideways, as a K member failure would undoubtedly write off my car in the ensuing mess.

AJE apparently sponsor some roadcourse users. I just don't want another MM piece because half of my car is already their stuff, and I can't bring myself to buy a Griggs product.

Have you had any bad experiences with MM?
