I've been racing ATV's for the past 18 years and have always used a K&N filter on them with what I call an outerwear (K&N calls them a Drycharger) to keep dirt, gravel, mud, sand and water from clogging up my filter during a race.I've always wondered how well they would work on a car because my K&N seems to attract it's share of bugs and other things that are in the air when I drive it so I finally broke down and bought a new filter with one that was made for it from K&N today for my Mustang.I know that a Mustang and a couple of ATV's don't really seem like a good comparision but the ATV's that I race are very modified, one of them runs 7.80@79 MPH in the 1/8th mile and the other runs 8.40@73 MPH in the 1/8th mile.
Here's some pictures of the car with a regular air filter and one with a Drycharger on it.Has anyone else tried this before and if so how did it work?
