My car made 330 with a KB 1500.

75mm MAF, 65mm TB, GT40 intake, GT40 heads, stock cam, AODE, KB 1500 @ 9lb.

I liked it BUT it made a lot of heat. If you invest in a quality meth kit I would say you can make close to 400 through a T5.

I believe KB was making just over 300whp and 400wtq on a mostly stock 5.0 at 11 psi or so. Obviously a little head goes a long way. lulz

with an aluminum headed 302 with supporting mods 400whp on 9-10psi shouldnt be a problem, thats about where the blower tops out and becomes a hairdryer.

so at 9-10psi figure you'll get between 60-90 more rwhp, add that to your base and that will give you a descent idea where you'll be.

Never seen a Whipple 2.3 or 2.4 for a 5.0

I havnt seen one either but if your going to spend the money on an aftermarket blower then you might as well get a good size one.

For 400rwhp you might as well get a take off eaton set-up.....

Largest KB makes for 5.0s now is a 2.1, which is a TOOON better than an Eaton.

Only problem is there is no take off Eaton that will work on the 5.0

Your right but I have seen some guys custom fab an M112 on a 5.0 but I don't think it was worth it, too custom for the minimal power gains plus its cheaper just to buy a KB not to mention you'd get more HP and it'll run cooler then an M112. I've also seen Dual M90s on a 5.0 as well. Too custom for me but kinda cool to see somebody make it work! I wish I had the skills to do some shit like that instead I do this all day :homework: damn desk job :BangHead: .

There used to be an Eaton kit for the 5.0 Mustang.

I guess im just used to my 03 cobra making decent power (440rwhp/475rwtq) for basically bolt ons.

I thought that maybe a company by now would have fabbed up an intake to adapt from the 5.0 to an eaton and make a nice 400hp.

Ive never looked at this setup because im trying to make a lot more power out of my little 95 gt project but sounds very doable for a nice strip/street car.

But dont be fooled, these eatons can easily make 500+rwhp these days with a port job and pulleys.

you have to understand we arent working on a very efficient 4v mod motor either. we are working with ancient pushrod technology with sub par cast iron heads.

if they made an adapter from 5.0 to eaton and the 5.0 was outfitted with AFRs and supporting hardware they would be in the same general horsepower range as the 4v termy.

if you want good power and a decent price, go with a Vortech and some boost cooling..... hehe.

I actually saw one of those BBK blowers once, they are kinda funny looking stuffed down in the bottom there.

That vid is kinda funny, didnt realize he was on a dyno... just thought he was on a trailer revving it up until he did his power pull. silly me....
