I'm looking at a KB 2.2 on svtperformance.com. The kit is made for a 4.6 f150 or expedition, but I believe it will still bolt up to my car (p.i. heads). I'm concerned about the clearance though, supposedly the intake on a truck is a lot taller than a mustang intake. I have a 3.5in cowl, but will it fit? Here's the link to the ad:

I'd really like to get this, but I don't want to get it and have it now work... Thanks guys!

i would think 3.5" would be more than enough...

they suggest an 00 cobra R hood for the 2.4L... so go off that...

if a cobra R hood give 3" of clearance and fits 2.4, i would figure a 3.5" hood will give clearance for 2.2... just thinkin....

i honestly dont know how much clearance a 00 cobra r hood gives, just trything to throw out some suggestions.

Yea that's what I was thinking. But those suggestions are based on a Kenne Bell made specifically for a mustang. This one's for a truck... That's why i'm kinda worried lol.

yea... the IM may make it a bit risky... .. fact is: 3.5" is a lot of cowl. lol. i personally think you'll be fine... id buy it, and if worse comes to worse, but a new hood? lol.

Yea I think i'm gonna go for it. The guy is getting back to me this afternoon with the measurements... And if the clearance is an issue, 5 inch cowl FTW! haha

No it's a lil darker. The car was painted with a darker red color before I bought it... But the hood is gorgeous:)

There is one more concern though... On the kits for the 99-04 gt, the pulley is extended 3 or 4 inches... On this kit, the pulley is only an inch off the front of the blower. I'll probably have to get the same extension as on the 99-04 kit right?

Good news! The blower sits forward on the intake manifold, thus making up the distance that the pulley extension provides. The kit uses the alternator to spin the blower. Should be good to go!

Well after all this it's not going to work... The blower will indeed bolt up to my manifold, BUT... It is 12.5 inches from the bottom of the manifold to the top of the blower. Even if I got a six inch cowl, I would still have to cut a hole in the hood... So the search continues lol. I'm gonna look for a kit that's actually made for my car! haha. Anyways the help was much appreciated guys! At least I learned something!
