Okay so i recently purchased a 1996 Mustang Gt as my new project.
Im looking to have a 450whp reliable street machine that i can drive to the track on the weekends.
Because of this...i have chosen to order the MMR 2v 900 shortblock with compression of 9.1. I plan on using a kenne bell to get the light to light performance im looking for. I have a couple questions and also would like yalls opinions on anything.

For heads and cams im thinking i will have them looked over by a machine shop for now and use stock. Ive thought about doing a PI Head and cam swap, will that make my compression go up? And if i do that swap how much gain will i get and is it worth it?? Also thought about just porting stock heads and using blower cam.

On the kenne bell website the only blower they make for my car is the 2.1L. The offroad pully says it will put psi at 14 max. Will that be enough to put me where i want to be? Also it comes with optional intercooler...at say 14 psi will this be enough to keep my air temps down for everyday driving without the use of a meth kit??

I also want this thing to really perform when i take it to the track. So ill prob be running spray along with the blower. I think this will be a good option cause it will let me run lower boost for everyday driving, but give me the extra hp at the track while keeping temp down. Do you thing my block and compression will be able to hold up to this?

Sorry for so many questions just trying to sort everything out and start the build!! Thanks

Researchi looked up shows that lower compression of 8.x:x is enough for a roots or twin screw blower. it is most debatable. cylinder pressure isnt needed because the low torque is there with said blowers. if say you went with a centri it is researched that 9.x:x range is adequate and keeping the inlet temps down and boost pressure up to drive motor to spin that blower. over 10 compression ratio could possibly limit your boost..... with a p.i swap you'll be close to 10.5:1 which is a moderately high for boost. if you combine boost pressure and dual power adding of nitrous, i hope you have upgraded shortblock. running water/meth will cool inlet temps and cylinder pressure temps and add a few points of octane.

Alright well since my compression is 9.1 im guessing that i shouldnt do the PI swap cause i dont want my compression going up anymore?
Yeah i actually just ordered a MMR 900 shortblock...ive heard good things about them...i think i will be able to hold.
I understand how meth works...but im trying to not have to run it on a daily basis. Soo my tune will be set at a low enough psi to keep inlet temps down.

Also Vermilion are you in the military?

What have you decided? If 450rwhp is all you are looking for you have many option.

What piston dish did you get with the MMR shortblock?

Put the PI heads on there. Im running just under 10.1 with 18 psi. I have a buddy im helping with 10.2.1 compression with a whipple and 23 psi. Higher compression is massive TQ
