Re: kicker subs

first off you are saying it wrong, everytime the word kicker is used, it MUST be followed by the word "COMP" or it will be assumed you are running some kind of overproduced crap that is sold at flea markets and anywhere on the net with no warrenty..... Just can't have that.

Personally I have never been impressed with kicker comps. They are inefficient, need large boxes and still cost too much IMO. I would have done JL myself but to each his own, it should rattle your mirror fairly well.

Re: kicker subs

Kicker Are Not the Best however, I dont think they are that bad. If you got a good deal then good for you.

The Problem with the L7 is usually it is overpriced. They do produce some volume, dont get me wrong, just usually a lot more for it. For example.

L7 12" 449.99 750Watts RMS

Alpine Type R 12" 199.99 600Watts RMS.....

Weighted a Little Funny IMO.

On a side note, Gratz on Boom Boom Stuff! Woot!

Re: kicker subs

well i only paid $282 for it with a kicker COMP box so i would say the price was decent, that's what made me choose it over the w6, and i never had a kicker comp so i figured id give it a try.

i have a 12" Kicker Comp VR and i love it.

although i had my insanely cheap employee discount at the time...

ah and take note of the "COMP". if you do not add that on the back of everything kicker makes people will think it is some kind of overproduced, overhyped offshore POS that is available at any flea market.

a 15 would be a squeeze.........
i had to take the bottom portion of the trunk latch off to get it in, and theres about 1/2" clearance between the top of the sub and the bottom of the lid
whoever said it was overpriced junk, it cost me $213 total and that bizich will HIT

when i had my 2 rockford fosgate 12s i had to move the box in all kinds of crazy directions to get it in my trunk. and i had to have the subs facing up because the box was too tall to have it any other way.

I love kicker. Had my 12" L7 for about 5 years now, and it was a factory refurbished sub... Along with kicker components up front and coaxials in the back. All of it sounds incredible. Just installed an L5 10 in someone else's car as well, with 520watts goin to it. That little buggar hits hard and smoooth. I say go square or... Fail.
