Well, my latest mods include a RPM 2 intake with a 1 inch spacer, 1.6 RR, and MSD Pro Billet Distributor, and hood scoop. The reason for the hood scoop is because the hood would not close with the spacer and intake. I'm having the car painted at the end of the year, and decided to cut the hood and install a hood scoop over the cut out until the car gets painted. After installing the hood scoop, I've received alot of good feedback from around town. It's a different look. The car should run in the high 7's through the 1/8th with the latest mods. Here are the pics. Tell me what you think.

That hole looks pretty big. Did the scoop just barely cover it? Maybe you cut it after you measured the scoop. Glad you got it worked out though!

You claim to have already run 7.7 in the 1/8th so why are more mods going to get you to the high 7's? Post up the 7.7 slip. Do you realize what it would take for you to run 7.7 in the 1/8th with a 1.8 60'? You must have a nitrous nozzle hidden away to run those times. Come on man, spill the beans!!! :rollinglaugh:

The hole was cut before the hood scoop was bought. The scoop was a after thought of the install of the intake. The scoop is for the 2005 and up mustangs. It's made very well and it had the right dimensions to cover the hole, so I decided to give it a try. I've already been in the 7's on nitrous, but not n/a. With the current set of mods, the car feels as quick off the line as with a small shot of nitrous. I should have a 1.7 60ft time and hopefully a 7.9 or better on the slip. Yes, I have nitrous, but rarely use it. The system is hidden and I have a select switch in the ashtray for n/a tune and nitrous tune. I've posted my run slip and my old dyno slip in the other forums. I should have some new slips soon and I'll post them when I return. I might have a video of me running a GTO this weekend. We'll have to wait to see if he shows up.

Good luck with the MSD distributor.

MSD distributors have a lot of runout on the shaft.

The stock distributor with a good cap and rotor can go a LONG way. I have seen stock distributors in cars that run in quick 8's catagory.

My stock distributor internal lubrication gummed up. After removing the distributor, we found the shaft almost frozen. The cam gear was forcing it to turn, and the pointer had melted almost a 1/2 inch. I ran a 8.2 in the 1/8th with the distributor like this. That is one of the reasons I think I might run in the 7's with the new combination. I was loosing alot of horsepower across the rpm band. We'll see soon..

I've got that same manifold but no spacer. I've still got my stock hood, and I've just cut reliefs in the central rib of the hood. I keep having to make them bigger.

I joked with my friend who has a Mach 1 that he has the Shaker intake and I have the Scraper.

Anyway, the Cobra R hood is the only aftermarket hood that I think looks good on a '94-'98 Mustang. That scoop is a nice improvisation, though!

The electronic piece in the bottom left corner is a mass air adjuster. It reads the voltage the mass air is reading, displays it in a digital readout. There is a switch which I can flip to adjust what the computer is reading. Rich or lean. The aluminum oil fill tube with the hose running out the top is a had to do piece. By this I mean the C&L intake tube was to close to the oil fill tube. I cut the tube in half, moved the vacuum line from the side to the top. This now fits under the C&L intake tube. When I change my oil and have to add oil, I have to slide the intake tube out of the way. Only takes a couple of minutes, and its no big deal. Its like the strut bar that you see is also modified to fit over everything. Just trying to make things work and still look decent.

I figured the piece on top of the intake box was something to do with the mass air. Just wanted to be sure on my part haha. I was most curious about what you had on the breather tube. It looked kinda like a check valve or something at first glance. anyways.. sweet deal.. looks good. get ya some wire separators and straighten them plug wires up and you'll be in business. I gotta do the same.. anyway thanks!!
