in a conversation with a friend about what muffler he would've put on my car he said that chambered mufflers didn't work well on fuel injected cars. so i'm thinking :blah2: but what do you guys think?

He doesnt know what the hell he is talking about.

The muffler and the Fuel Induction System (Carb or EFI) do not have anything to do with each other or effect each other in any way.

The only job of the muffler if to Lower the noise of the car.

Did you also know that 4.6 2V stangs require Weekly lubrication on the Muffler Bearing?

.... Those lucky DOHC guys have Self Lubricating Muffler Bearings but if you dont change the Muffler Bearings Oil then Need a whole new exhaust :rollinglaugh:

my blinker fluid is low...I've gotten 2 tickets for non working blinkers... damn blinker fluid...

i'm ordering some cross drilled and slotted brake lines along with some radiator insulation. my cars gonna be running better in no time

PLEASE ask your friend why that is. If he is confident enough to make the statment then he must know all about the engineering involved as to why.

I don't know about fuel injected cars HOWEVER...there comes a point when a chambered muffler IS a hinderence to the production of power and a flow-through muffler will net substantial gains. Just recently witness the removal of a spintech pro street muffler switched to a flow through magnaflow race muffler....over 20hp was picked up.
