Life expectancy of throwout bearing?

I recently got a 96 GT with 52K miles and the throwout bearing is
making a high pitched squeak at idle.When you press in the clutch
the squeaking noise go's away until you take your foot off the clutch
petal.Do throwout bearings only last 50-60K miles on these cars?
How long did your throwout bearing last if you ever replaced it?
I'm replacing my clutch with a Valeo brand clutch.
The throwout bearing I ordered was a Ford OEM throwout bearing
and a new Ford OEM flywheel.

It just depends. The TOB should last the life of the clutch. Sometimes you can get a crap one and have to replace it in 2 years.

id change the pilot bearing too and the TOB retainer.

There is something else going on here. The TOB sits idle until you depress the clutch pedal. Try pulling up on the clutch pedal firmly and listen for a "click" or ratcheting sound. This re-adjusts the OEM cable/quadrant. If it persists there is usually another issue.

Mine has 162K on it.

I will be replacing the pilot bearing too.
The throwout bearing retainer will be inspected at time of install
and replaced it if necesssary.
The rear main seal will be inspected for any leaks.
Also the OEM cable and quadrant will be checked out!
I had a Centerforce DF clutch in my last mustang and I
really liked it alot.
The Valeo clutch is just a stock replacement clutch.
I belive that the life of your throwout bearing depends
on how you use your mustang.
My mustang I have now has been used as a daily driver for the past 52K miles
from the last owner.
