don't lt's give ur exhaust a little bit more rumble?
I read somewhere that lt's give you more power in like the 2200 - 3500 range and the shorties give you more in the 3600-4000 idk tho I was reading about it in a magazine the other day while i was waiting at the dentist and I dont' remember too well
longtubes in general give you more flow. I'll probably be installing mine here soon
Good luck with that nightmare...... I have a shop with a rack, and it usually takes us between 6-8 hours to install long tubes on a 4.6 car (10 hrs or a cobra)
You generally have to drop the rack, pull apart the front suspension and you HAVE TO remove the steering column (make sure the battery is disconnected or the air bags will deploy) The shop I use charges about $400-$500 to install. After the price of the headers, and the install, your looking at $1K. TOTAL WASTE of money unless you got some MAJOR mods such as cams (not just PI) intake, S/C, NOS, or something along that line.
I personally sold my long tubes after I found out they only netted me 20HP over the stockers. I used the money instead to get new rims (18's) and a lowering kit, plus a complete PI swap.... much more useful than the headers would have been.
If you really think about it, the 03-04 Cobras (even though they are 4V) basically employ the same short tube design and most of them dyno at 400+hp stock. Just a bit of info I also found helpful.
