hey guys, im going to have about 1k to spend after christmas from saving my paychecks and christmas gifts, and of course, its all going into my mustang.

what could i do to it to make it run a few tenths faster in the quarter, or just plain run better?

i normally shop at AM but im open to new parts sites.

thanks for any and all suggestions, even if it isnt about speed!

Programmer and gears. I will do a tune for you but need to know your mods. it will be a copy of a tune that I did on a dyno for a car with your mods. As for gears, get someone to professionally install your gear set, and only use FRPP gearsets, they don't make noise when set up correctly.

Is that all you`ve done in your sig? If so, I would say gears, programmer, PI intake, and at least PI cams, if you don`t have enough for the heads too. You will def. feel the sotp improvement.

Look in the classified section near the bottom of the forum, if ya don`t find anything there Nick at modularheadshop usually has some pi cams for about 50 bucks. He sells the intake too, but i forget how much. Google it, you will get all kinds of places.

everything is possible, look around take your time and you will find awesome deals.
ive seen PI intakes for free on my local forum several times.
if you have the tools and knowledge you can knock the PI swap yourself and pay a shop to get the gears done.

Ive seen gears going for 100 + shipping BNIB.
I paid 135 SHIPPED for my 3.73's BNIB

You won't have a burnt piston with a small shot. You might grenade your intake but that's a different matter entirely. I've ran quite a few bottles through my car on a 100 shot.

If you go with PI cams and PI intake you should be making around 220hp. If you have full bolt-on's, full exhaust, and full PI swap, plus a tune you should make around 260hp. My vote goes for the full PI swap. It's just as big of a job as just swapping in the cams, I've done both. You can probably get a full PI swap into your car for under $500 if you do the labor.

With a small shot and not running too much timing on a conservative tune
you will not burn a hole in your piston.
Fuel puddling on a wet shot can cause your intake manifold to explode though.
Since you don't want nitrous get gears and a programmer.

nitrous is the cheapest power gain on an anemic NPI setup.

headswap woudl be your best bet, or cams and IM with a limited budget.
and yes do gears first. if you're staying NA, I'd go 410's
