Yeah, they are the same betweent he 96-98 cobra's and the 96-04 GTs. as for any special tool, no, not really, but a torch comes in handy, along with a saw or two. if you happen to have a press, its even better. maximum motorsports makes good control arms for our cars.

THANKS A LOT....IS THERE A POINT TO GETTTING ADJUSTABLE UPPERS?

yeah, if you know what you are doing. from what im told, you get the adjustable uppers if you ever want to mess with the pinion angle and whatnot. i never saw the need of it, so i stayed away. also, i guess the stock uppers good enough to work even with higher HP.

FYI the lower control arms for the 99-04 have a 14mm hole in the tq box bushing where the 94-98 have a 12mm. You can use the 99+ on the 98- but you would have to drill the holes out to a 14mm.

Or use the 12mm bolts and the 12mm bushing. i have the 04 IRS on my car and mm makes both the bushings for 12mm and 14mm. mine came with the 14mm bushings but mm sold me the metal sleeves for the 12mm bolts. just a simple swap.

I understand you can make them work, but you said they were the same, and they arent without modification.
I know the simplicity of the swap, I have the opposite swap as you, I have a 98 solid in my cobra.

i thought it was only the later cobra's (03/04) that had the 14mm bolt issue, and even then it was a hit-or-miss type thing. i thought the GT/Bullitt/mach1 were all 12mm. :dunno:

yeah they are the same junk.... dont bother. Buy some nice aftermarket arms if you want the better handling. But either way, dont bother trying to put new bushing in... replacing the arms themselves is the better bet.

I would strongly advise you to upgrade to Maximum Motorsports LCAs.....it will replace your rubber bushings with poly and Spherical. Also the poly bush is grease-able with a grease fitting.

...Just upgrade
