Yeah but he want's to DD drive it! and no one is giving him the right advice! yeah I wouldnt mind getting en el-camino, the cool factor is def, there! but im sure this car is going to need some work, maybe more than he can afford at the moment! I think someone pointed out how he had a hard time when his Mach 1 broke down.... if he is looking for a reliable daily I think he's better off DD the Mach otherwise he need's to get something along the lines of a Focus,Escort, or Civic

Buy a BMW and you will be a BMW guy. Somebody who thinks anything without a BMW-badge is an inferior car and acts solely upon that fact. Just look at this thread and you know I'm right (not mentioning any names).

But look at it from this way: you think your modern Mustang is not a good DD, so you want to use an old Camino instead? That strikes me as odd. If you don't want to use your Mach as a DD, get something that is more fit as a DD, not less. Surely you can get a good, "normal" car for that kind of money. It'll save you a lot of headache (and money?) in the end.

I still say if you can somehow afford 2 cars at your age get a 4x4. At least you'll have transportation through bad weather.

the mach would be a GREAT DD for somebody with more experience than me. id rather have the mach as a weekender or a late night out car for the time being until i feel like im a good enough driver and avoid mistakes so they happen to an old beater rather than the mustang of my dreams.

i can drive it just fine. but ive been driving for 2 months and ive already got a ding in my rear bumper.

300hp at 16 is a little much, and its easy to get in trouble in it when youre with friends, or when some guy tries to race you in a punto. (lol that happened last night, we didnt race though)

im talented enough to handle the power of the car just fine, but its the little "dings" that im worried about. once again id much rather it be some other beater rather than the mach.
