I just installed my new Pioneer HU, and like an idiot, I didn't research it thoroughly enough. My new head unit only has 1 set of RCA preamps, but the Metra integration harness i just bought has two sets. What would the effect be if i splice both sets together using a couple of T-splices resulting in two outputs instead of four?

So here's an update to what i did. I went to walmart, bought 2 rca Y-splitters and combined the left-front and rear, and the right-front and rear. It sounds fine, and the only downside that I can think may occur is that it will be more of a stereo set-up instead of a more 4.1 style set up.

Do you need to turn it up all the way to get any real bass out of it? The factory amps like a hot signal, and not all decks will supply a high enough output. If the bass output is weak, look into a little box called a line driver. They are all over ebay, simple hook up and sound much better then.
