My buddy Brian got another goody for me today...... He gave me a 80mm MAF that interchange states fits the cobra. Problem is that the base mounting holes are larger than the stock MAF I currently have and I would have to elongate the mounting holes on my CAI to make this fit. The 80mm one states it is tuned for the 24# injectors.... Stock is tuned for 19# injectors. I have the Ford Racing 24# injectors.... Should I elongate the holes and make the 80mm MAF work with my setup or should I just remove the module from the 80mm unit and install it on the stock unit? Will that work?

FIrst, don't just swap out the electronics. That won't work.

Second what kind of Mustang do you have (Cobra or GT) and what injectors?

Third,is your current MAF stock?

Fourth, do you have a custom tune?

I ask b/c you post is a lil hard to understand. I don't want to feed you bad gouge but I can answer your question if you give me the facts.

Ryclef,

Mine is just a standard GT. The 80mm MAF did not come off of a Cobra, I am not sure what it came off of. Brian just told me that the parts interchange told him the following: "Will work with 93 - 04 Mustang 5.0, 4.6, 89-95 Taurus SHO V6 engines and 5.0. Sensor Body is 80mm, Sensor Calibrated for the 80mm and 24lb injectors." So thats what I have on the MAF. The injectors I have are FRP BLUE body 24# injectors. There is no custom tune on the car as it is not even running yet...... I am trying to "collect" all of the parts needed to put everything back together. Couple of months ago I had PM'd you asking about the 351 W swap. This is just the motor that is going to be in there over this summer until the 351 is completed next year.

(Stock lower end, polished and ported GT40 heads, ported GT40 intake , headers, X pipe, 1.6 roller rockers, F303 cam, 150 shot wet NO2, 75mm throttle body) Thats what I have so far including this 80mm MAF and the 24# FRP injectors.

Ok...yes it should work out. Reason I ask about cobra or GT is that they are BOTH the SAME MAF's from the factory. The Cobra's 24lb injectors are calibrated via the ECU and NOT the MAF. So the MAF should work fine.

The MAF works with all those cars and engines?

For the most part, yes. They all have the same style connector. As for the cal files, i don't know. I've never wanted to swap my maf for a taurus or truck maf really.

I'm pretty sure the 5.0 and 4.6 MAF connectors are different. That's why to use a LMAF i needed to get a wiring harness adapter.
