What is the difference between the Magnapacks and the overly loud SLP units? I am looking for something with some tone, other than just noise. How are the Magnapacks- I like the way they sound, on youtube but never heard of one in person.

I know that SLP is just pure noise, with very little to no tone and want to know how the two differ.

I think the Packs have some tone to em. Mustanger has em on his stang I'm sure he'll chime in. I want to get the Magnapacks to replace my MAC's, they're just too quiet. Silver95 do you have stock manifolds and midpipe?

Best sounding muffler I've heard, not just bc i have them. Slp sounds good on 3Vs though.
The packs aren't crazy Loud like everyone says, they are audible with an awesome tone.

I too am running an O/R x pipe with magna packs. They have a good tone but at WOT it basically sounds like straight pipes. I've heard the SLP LMII's are ok as well but Magnaflow is just a brand I prefer between the two.

I have a set of them brand new in the box if anyone is interested. just the mufflers.

I'll have to do some research to see what a reasonable price is for them.

I too have packs with O/R magnaflow X pipe, don't get me wrong they do sound great at the right time...but mine sometimes sound a bit raspy for my liking, like on part throttle under load.
A little too loud for me with O/R midpipe also, had them a few years now & the novelty is wearing off.

Car looks good and sounds mean as hell man. I'm sure you got an O/R mid on there right? When I get the $$ I'm buying Magnapacks for sure

I might be interested as soon as I get some $$. Hate being broke =/

Put some catalytic convertors back on it or swap to an H pipe.

My friend and his brother have magnapacks on everything they own, literally! From a foxbody and a Chevy 1500 with an LT1 to an old Yamaha xs750 and a Kawasaki tyrex! Best sounding mufflers in my opinion! His foxbody has shorty headers and a stock h pipe with two mufflers and 4" magnaflow tips welded straight to the back of the muffler case stopping right before the axle....best setup I've ever heard on a 5.0!

Don't know how I missed this thread in the beginning....but glad to comment on my Magnapacks.

Right now I have them coupled with the OEM cats...and it is the perfect DD type of setup! You never get tired of listening to them purr & rumble...they have a perfect deep muscular tone even at idle. open up up a bit & they get louder & louder until at WOT they are nice & LOUD! I get tons & tons of compliments... LOL one middle aged guy literally RAN across the parking lot to ask what they were! I had down shifted to First, accelerated up the entrance then let them coast against back pressure... he loved the sound... kinda old school type.

You can hold a good conversation at freeway speeds no problem and I never turn on the stereo anymore, much prefer to listen to the "pipe music".

I AM planning on buying an off road H pipe just for parades & running with my chevy buddies that are open headers...just for fun & to see how I like it. I don't expect to leave them on full time most likely...especially if I go to a less friendly state like calif.

I HIGHLY recommend the Magnapacks! For The 04 Mach 1 it will be either Packs or Borla Stingers....Stingers sound awesome on a 4.6!

I'm not sure what kind of heat they are capable of producing, but where they're aimed has me a little worried.

sounds great though!
