i was wondering if there was a way i could set up my top to where i could manually put it up and down. its a 95 gt and i think the motor is going bad, i used to be able to hit the side of it and the top would go up and down but it just kept getting weaker and weaker. and i dont have 300 dollars to spend on a new motor setup right now. any advice?

thanks for the help in advance

I have had about every problem I thought there was with mine. Looks like there's one I missed! I have not heard about doing it manually, but I'll see what I can find.

Well, I did it on mine for a while... because my hydraulic lift cylinders both exploded. It's a tad heavy to be putting up/down by hand. I usually ended up standing on the back seat to get enough leverage to keep it from slamming down.

Anyway, if you really want to do it (and I'm not sure I'd recommend this, even though I did it), take your back seat and rear trim panels off, disconnect the hydraulic lines from the lift cylinders and drain all the fluid out. Probably a good idea to pull the electrical connection from the motor, too.

If you force the top up/down without disconnecting the hydraulics, you will blow something (probably the cylinders... the have a shitty plastic top on them)

Seriously, though, if you're gonna go through all the effort of doing that, just buy a new motor and replace it while you have everything apart.
