yeah, I was planning on doing cams when I did my mark8 motor swap, but after seeing the prices were so retarded I think I can live with the powerband that I've got, I just have my rev limiter set to 7k instead of 7.5k so I don't over rev the weaker valve springs.

You mean you think 4v cams at 1200 bucks or more are expensive :hammer:

I don't even have that much invested in the entire car at the moment...

all I needed was the motor, a cobra intake setup + throttle/cruise control cable, a pilot bearing, and cobra exhaust manifolds.

I used the wiring harness, computer, oil pan, oil pump pickup tube, motor mounts, flywheel, clutch, a/c and p/s from the GT motor.

just had to do IMRC delete, extend a few wires, and bolt everything in.

you can cheat the IMRC's and use them if you buy an MSD rpm activated window switch, so they open at the rpm you set with an MSD pill, like at 3300 for example. Just wire it into the IMRC controller so when it activates at your set rpm, it gives power to the IMRC controller which will open the butterfly's.

but personally the car is seldom under 3300rpm whenever I want to have power, as I can just downshift...

and the MSD setup is almost $100, halfway to a 4.10 gear swap...
