So as some of you know, My brother who has a Black '95 GT that alomst matches mine was in an accident a few months back. well, it's time for him to have it inspected back home in Houston, and it's going to cost him around $2400-$2800 just to fix the car enough to pass inspection, and become driveable again(AFTER he paid to have the car put back together and painted) well, he's decided it's not worth fixing, so he's looking into buying a new Ford truck(he's looking at an '06 F150 4X4) anyways, he says he's going to give me the car, so i can strip it down and build my race car... I've got a 390 sitting around with heads, intake and carb, just needs some guts, and headers... So i think instead of working on my '95, I'm going to leave it the way it is, and when i move back to Houston, my brother and I will strip down his car he's giving to me, sell what we can, I'll give him the $ of course since he's just giving me the car... then i can throw in the 9" rearend i've got, the 390, and the cage and all the goodies. It's exciting, but i feel bad for my brother, I found him the car online, and wasn't there to look at it when he went to buy it since i'm in VA...If i was still in Houston i could do all the work it needs for only the cost in parts... oh well, i'm just glad he wants to give it to me... thats awesome... So looks like when i move back to Houston, i'll be building myself a strip car... can't wait, hopefully i can sell all the parts and make my bro some of his money back... the damn thing has Chrome Cobra R's, and BFG KDW's with less than 1200 miles on them.

it does sound good, and will be a great project(just can't get started till i get back to Houston in 10 months WOOHOO NO MORE NAVY IN 10 MONTHS!) I just feel somewhat responsible for this car being such a POS, the accident wasn't his or my fault, but I found the car and told him about it, and i wasn't there to check it out... maybe when it's all said and done it'll be something we can both be proud of, and then i won't feel so bad.

Yeah, my buddy is driving home to Kansas in a couple days and bringing me back the 390 Block, factory heads, and Edelbrock intake and a Holley carb... we're going to go to the junkyard and get brackets, but since it's going in a "race car" no ac, no smog, no power steering, all i'll need is a water pump and alternator.(the alt, just because i wanna be able to illegally drive it every now and then in Houston to the local hot spots...lol) We'll probably fab up some stuff on our own. we get out of the Navy at the same time(we went to bootcamp together, A school together, cam to the ship together, and work in the same shop together) so he'll prolly come to Houston(only a 9 hour drive from me) and help me and my bro start the buildup on it

do I hear "Build Thread"?!?

Possibly... Going to find out for sure about the Stang when i drive to Houston to surprise my parents this coming friday. my bro is meeting me in Atlanta to help me drive the second half of the trip so i'm not alone... he and i will talk about it then. if so, the build won't happen till i'm out of the Navy and back in houston which will be october/novemberish next year. THEN it'll start slowly. I'm really thinking about joining the Houston police Dept. so if so, that means the wife and i will purchase a house sicne i'll be there till i retire, so the build would happen faster in that instance... we'll see...

it's cool with me... so long as i feel i'm getting my brother the cash he deserves for the parts off the car when i sell it... I might talk to him and cough up a few hundred for the Cobra R hood though... LOL... unless i need a bigger cowl, i wanna keep that. I'll post up from my parents house next weekend when i get the final word on it... plus i gotta talk to my friend Kristen and see if i can borrow half her garage instead of keeping it at my parents house...She's 22, got her own house, an '04 Mystichrome Cobra Convertible, and an '03 Lightning with a built 5.4, when i say built, i mean it was yanked out after 2000 miles and comepltely rebuilt to handle the what became 800 rwhp. which she's paid for everything btw, got an inheritance when her grandparents passed away, and was smart enough to invest and save... now she's got a house and 2 badass cars to play with...

Yes she does... she and I have been friends since sophmore year in highschool... neither of us could drive, but were both obcessed with Mustangs, her first ride was a Silver '99 V6 Mustang, mines was a '86 Honda Civic 4 door. LOL... that Silver sixxer she had i later bought, moded and ran high 12's in. LOL... she sold me the V6, then bought the lightning(in the best color ever... black) then she bought the Cobra back in, i wanna say '05. it was used with only 16,000 miles... after she sold the six, a few eyars later, she decided she watned a car again, I believe she's going to sell the L this upcoming summer. You can see her truck if you buy the video "You got the hit" from scandalous racing... they might even still have the video clip on their website... it's the black Lightning doing a burnout down the middle of Interstate 10 in Houston. LOL... :santa_evil:
