Everyday its something new. Yesterday I left work and drove the car about an hour all freeway then got off and stopped at a buddies house for a few minutes to drop off some parts for his fox. Car was running normal up to this point. I turned off the car and kicked it for about 10 minutes, then went back to the car to start it and it would turn over but would not stay on. ( It wasn't HOT start, like the majority of my foxbodies had ) It seemed like it wasn't getting fuel or spark, or both. After about 5 attempts it fired up but i had to keep it floored in order for it to stay on, and while i had it in gear and driving it would spit and sputter and act as if it just wanted to die. Everytime i pressed in the clutch the rpm would drop right to "0" so I had to keep cranking it everytime i stopped. I got it back on the freeway and drove it about another 20 minutes to my place and when i got off the freeway i pressed in the clutch and it stayed on, drove it on the street about 4 miles and had no problems. It cranked up fine this morning, and I drove it to work ( about 20 miles highway and 5 city traffic ) and seemed to run ok, turned it off at work, and started it again and seemed fine.
Anyone had any clue what happened? One of my buddies said its the computer. Do the computers in these car have like some safety deal that enables the car to run if too hot? Any other ideas?
I do remember when i turned off the car at my friends house it was running warmer than normal. Around 215 220 or so, and the fan was on when i turned it off.
I don't know about this car, its something new everyday, i swear. I should have bough the Bullitt :sad5:
thanks for any help.
