I have a 1997 4.6 Thunderbird automatic motor that I am putting in a 2000 Mustang GT 5 speed. The mechanic is saying that the crank is different being that it is a 6 bolt instead of 8 bolts. Is there anything that I can do to make it work? An adapter, etc? Any help thay I can get as quick as I can get it! Thanks,

Are you just using the shortblock? The heads/intake are different then the 00 and not as good.

if you have the motor out of the T-bird. do the PI swap on it before you drop it into the mustang.

You'll need to change flywheels.

The only thing I need to change is the flywheel and it will match up with my clutch? And, what is a PI?What needs to be changed?

Yes. Use an 8 bolt flywheel. Call 50resto.com and talk to them. They'll send you in the right direction.
