Just replace it then. The expensive felpro rear-main has an plastic install sleeve which aids not messing up the sealing surface on the crank. Use the old seal to EVENLY tap the new seal in. If you are careful there is no need for the expensive rear-main install tool. If you're worried about it, people have gotten by using PVC pipe with a cap on one end. I used the oil rear main to tap the new one in and it's still leak free 4700 miles later. The teflon is more forgiving than traditional rubber IMO. Read the instructions which come with the seal.

Would it be a good idea to also resurface the flywheel? Its got shinny and dull patches on the surface where the clutch touches it. I can upload photos of it if needed. I looked at the clutch today and it seems okay, still got alot of meat on it.

Post a pic or you'll have some 13-year-old kid tell you to resurface it becuase he's never seen a flywheel and "dull patches" sounds bad.

Before you post it, take brake cleaner and clean the hell out of it so clutch dust does not factor in.

Pressure plate and clutch disc look fine. Take some 1000-1500 grit sand paper on a sanding block and wet-sand the pressure plate until it looks sightly more uniform--not worth spending money on as it would be just fine as-is.

The flywheel is debatable; if it was going on my car and I would get it resurfaced for less than $45. Anymore $, I would just buy a new $100 Ford Racing flywheel.

You can't really sand the flywheel. Flywheels must be machined to ensure a consistent finish and a flat surface that the clutch disc can "bite" into.

Don't sand the flywheel, I only meant the pressure plate. I don't mean sand like take up a bunch of metal. I only meant to like "clean off the glaze" so-to-speak; like the last wet sand on a paint job. I should have been more clear. My bad.
