So who here uses their mustangs as a family car? I have been wondering if a infant car seat will work in my car. I have a week old new born son. I have put my 6 yearold daughters seat in the Cobra all summer so that isnt a issue.

I won't let my young kids ride in the cobra. Kids put their feet on the seats and make messes, etc. When they're older and can learn to appreciate things, I'll let them ride in the car.

When I had my V6, I had a car seat in the back of it. It was kind of a pain in the ass to get the kid in and out of it, but it worked. I wasn't really as anal about that car as I am about the red one, so it was alright.

I use mine for a family car/ daily driver I got my car when she was born the car seat fit perfect. But know she's 2 and my wife has to move the her seat forward because they smashes the baby's feet.she could berly fit. That's why I'm loooking to sell this beast and get me a gs400. So for small baby's is ok but after 2 years naw

I have once. If you get a smaller frame car seat then you should be good. Our problem is that my 3 year old is well over 3ft tall. My wife had no room and the car seat is huge. I'm getting a smaller seat so she can ride with me more. We have a Nissan Rogue as a daily so it's not really an issue.

We used the V6 mustang as our sole family vehicle until my first son was nearly 2. Then when my wife was pregnant with our second boy and about ready to pop, we decided that the sixer wasn't going to cut it anymore. I bought her a Ford Escort sedan (4 door) to use as the kid taxi / DD, and myself a Ford Ranger as my DD. I sold the sixer and bought the cobra as my exclusive baby/project car.

I've never had the seat facing the rear, but my child had been in the back with the seat facing forwards. Didn't have a problem

I use mine for DD since my daughter was born. She gets a ride four days a week to daycare in it without too many struggles for three years now. It was tight for my wife in the front with the infant rear facing seat when I daughter was little, but it worked when needed. Now that my daughter is 3 and in a front facing seat (Evenflow), we all fit just fine.
My daughter likes the Mustang over the Explorer. She thinks it's a 'cooler' car.

I raised my son in a 69 Mach 1, no car seats in those days...he loved to stand on the back seat & be pinned there when I nailed it briefly...( I know not PC nowdays...but we all survived) I pulled a tent trailer with it to go camping with the Mach. I even drove it on dirt logging roads 38 miles to our secret trout streams... forged across two good sized streams with it...had a bear break the drivers window & get in the back seat in Yosemite. I made that Mach do everything!!! Never complained & cleaned up to good as new almost at 115K miles ...details were the first order of business whe we got home! Miss that car forever! (imagine a Ford accessory & Ford installed trailer hitch!??? ...True...)

Well we had left a chocolate cake back there & forgot it...Mr. bear was happy to eat it for me! He dented the door in too with his paw, left a big ol muddy paw print, my insurance rep & all his office had to come out & see it when I took it in to get repaired.

also the bear was still in the backseat unbeknownst to me when I looked in to see the damage...lol he came out QUICK with the cake plate in his mouth & hit my shoulder & knocked me down! He was more interestted in the cake than me, but I was mad! So I picked up a good sized rock & hit him right in the head while he was eating.... that's when he charged at me & I vaulted over the car trunk somehow & hit the Restroom door ....but I didn't need to worry he only took a couple steps then went back & finished the cake! Darned camp bears are a big nuisance & I detest them now.

My 95 was the family car for over 6 years.
That was with my dad, my mom, and my brother and sister and me!
We all rode in the back seat. Obviously this was a little before serious enforcement of seatbelts since one of us didn't wear one.
This car took road trips from Texas to Michigan and Texas to Florida. Its been all over.

These cars 'can' be family cars, just don't exceed 2 kids and one wife :p

No kids...yet...but I'm not hauling kids around in a Mustang. Too small. Especially with these newfangled rear-facing seats. I saw a '12 GT at a car show with one of those giant things and the passenger had to be eating the dashboard unless he/she was all of like 4' tall.

I rode in the back of my dad's '89 LX 5.0 Sport no problem, this is when I was 9-10 years old. Tight fit but not terrible.
