My automatic is failing

Hey!!
I got a Mustang Gt 1996
The automatic os fail.
It shifts too late from 1st gear over to 2nd. Goes to 4000rpm then it shifts, but with the other gear its ok.
Can someone help me with this?
P.s im not very good at English

yep, sounds like that you have blown out a tranny seal for the 1-2 shift. As far as I know with the auto's for the early gens is that they just don't hold up. I would start looking for another transmission or have yours rebuilt. That's just my .02 cents

The 4r70w's are pretty damn reliable. Much more so than its fathered AODe.

That transmission either had high mileage or was abused to death.

You can change the accumulator without pulling the trans, you want the new bonded style.

Early 4r70w's, up to 97 didn't get all the beef updates. As with any running production piece changes were made, and newer is almost always better.

It doesnt matter how good the tranny is if its not maintained...mine was going at 80k because the fluid was never changed and was burnt all to hell from the previous owner
