Ok so i drove my car home the night before last and everything was fine i was a little low on gas slightly below the 1/4 tank mark. Yesterday i went to start it and it cranks but it just wont quite turn over to start it almost does but not quite. All my lights and everything work just fine still. I put on a different coil to see if that was the problem but the same problem occurred. I put 2 gallons of gas in as well to see if maybe that was the problem. But still it just cranks but wont start. Today i noticed though that when i turn my key over my fuel pump isn't priming or making that whine sound. I sprayed carb cleaner in the the throttle body and my car started for a few seconds then died again. So anyone have any ideas? Im afraid its the fuel pump.

Turn the key on, and check the schrader valve on the rail to see if there's gas, and watch your eyes, it comes out fast if there is.

ha i hope you didnt do this.. but.. one time i put a new pump on and forgot to tighten the outlet hose and.. it slipped off the pump eventually. and as soon as i got below about a quarter it ran out. but my pump still whined haha it took me a week and i finally took it to a dealership and it took them four days before they gave up and told me it just must be a pos checker pump :hammer: so i dropped the tank in the parking lot ( bad idea.. parking lot + wind = mucho dirto ) anyway.. $92 diagnosis and 1 week w/o my gt later.. i decided its a good idea to double check every freakin thing you tighten :whip: ha

ps some dick decided to cut us off as we were pullin it to the dealership at 11 30 one night and i almost rear ended my brothers silverado.. guess i learned my lesson for lettin a chev pull me?

check the switch inside the trunk to make sure it didn't go off. It is located on the driver side right by the taililight.
