If you have M105, a Porter cable, and an Orange pad you REALLY need to try the Kevin Brown Method. It works wonders.

I keep seeing information on his method. Is it how he spreads the product over the pad or how he makes passes or a combination of both?

The difference between the door and quarter panel is huge. More depth and clarity and just richer in color.
maybe next time around I'll use a yellow pad.
If you haven't tried an orange pad first I would do that. Yellow is pretty aggressive and you want to take the least aggressive process. Some times it takes 2 passes to remove all or nearly all swirls.

Is this a comparison between the rear panel he worked on, and the door that was yet to be done? Or is the difference in color because the door has been repainted?

To be honest I think its might be both. I dont think the car has ever been wrecked however, before I noticed that the front of the car was a different color than the rear, slightly. However, after going through this process, the color matches very well and am once again unsure whether or not it has been repainted. You can't tell at all.

Combo of both. Its pretty much soaking the Orange pad with M105 before you start buffing.

I love DFG when its freshly detailed or repainted. You can really see the green, and the blue because I heard that the color coat has a slight hint of blue pearl. I'm going to research the kenny brown method....

Between the rear panel and the door yet to be done. If you look at all the before and after pics the color become darker/richer in color. The light/reflections are not being distorted by all the fine scratches and oxidation.

Car looks great! Big improvement. I need to just break down and get a PC.

Clean and paint your wheel wells too! :)

+1. And the calipers, rotors, and the back side of the wheels. Those things are all too often overlooked, but stick out like a sore thumb if they are rusty looking on an otherwise clean car.

Before (calipers had been painted > 6 months):

After:

Clean vs. dirty wheels:

I spray acid wheel cleaning on the inside of my wheels, pressure wash, and after I get what I can see clean, I back the car up half a turn and get the other side of the wheel. Its way easier that way.

Your trunk looks like it needs adjusted too by the way. Or so it looks, just thought I'd point that out. Its sticking out too far, or your tail lights are in too far?

Huge turn around bro. I need to do mine but i haven't a clue what the hell I'm doing. I've got a buffer at the house. I don't know what pads and chemical combos to use tho. I mean this is where she is but I'm sure there's a ton to improve on.

If I had deep dish wheels on the back your car would be my twin.
