Small update. I got the bumpsteer kit all rebuilt and ready to go in. I was able to get the timing cover off without totally removing the valve covers. It wasnt easy, but its off. Im going to repaint it because the belt shredded last year and there are marks all over it that drove me crazy all summer lol. I also got some new parts in and will slowly be repainting and cleaning stuff once it warms up a little. Few pics:

Timing cover, notice the marks around the tensioner area from the belt rubbing:

And heres the Bullitt rocker moldings that I scored for $50 bucks with the mudflaps already shaved, as well as my new BBK X pipe:

These are actually my second set, sorta. Ford Racing used to make the same exact kit, and thats what I bought back around 2006. They have been great, and the only reason that I am replacing them is because I kinda messed the threads up on one of them in a fit of rage when I was trying to take the spindles off last year.

As for the timing cover, I loosened all the bolts on the valve covers and the oil pan, and obviously removed the valve cover and oil pan bolts that go into the timing cover. Then the rest is pretty straight forward. Remove water pump pulley, A/C compressor, steering pump, rent a balancer puller and take that off. Came right off

Ill tell ya what, its probably not going to be until summer of 2014 that I get the Bullitt skirts the way that I want them and on the car, but when the time comes and Im ready to sell the Cobras, you will be the first person that I contact, and if you dont already have a set, I promise you that you will get a smokin deal on them...

LOL, I wish I could switch them out now. Whoever decided to delete the mudflaps on the Bullitt skirts had no idea how plastic works. They slapped a bunch of fibergalss resin and bondo where they needed to fill, and now its all popping out. So the end caps are going to have to be totally redone. The long pieces are perfect, just a little rash on them. I contemplated taking my Cobra end caps and reshaping them to look like the Bullitts, but I just cant bring myself to hack up a set of mint Cobra skirts. So Im just gonna take my time and work on them here and there over the summer. Then next year Ill get the skirts, new Cobra front bumper, V6 rear bumper, and the trunk lid all repainted at one time...

Damn that sucks. Would it be easier to just make a mold outta them and make them outta fiberglass?

At this point Im not really sure. Ive never really worked with fibergalss before, but have dabbled in flexible bumper repair when I was at WyoTech. So Im gonna give that a shot first. Im looking forward to messing with them, just to see how and if I can make them mint. Plus Id be the biggest jerk in the world to ***** and critique a set of $50 Bullitt side skirts..lol

Well, I got some more done on the car over the past couple days. Its been in the 40s here, so I figured I had better get some work done. After pulling the engine apart to get the timing cover off, I was looking around the engine bay noticing all the little things that needed some attention. So I figured that Id pull the intake and valve covers off, and repaint the valve covers. Its way easier to get them off with the intake removed, so I just took it all apart. Then I noticed that my Canton oil pan was seeping oil out of the rear rail between the pan and transmission. So out came the K member and oil pan. One thing about the AJE K members is that they use a different style motor mount than the traditional 4.6 mount. The K member is universal to any mustang, then you get specific motor mounts the bolt to the engine. The motor mount bushings for the K member are the same dimensions as the steering rack bushings, so while the K member is out, Im going to replace the poly engine mount and steering rack mount bushings with delrin bushings made for steering racks. Ill reseal the oil pan and put a new gasket on it, then probably get new intake gaskets and new valve cover gaskets, get everything painted up and put back together. Im also eliminating my PCV system too. I bought a Moroso non vented catch can last year that plumbs in to the passenger side valve cover, and while it helped in catching some oil, there is still some oil in the intake from the other valve cover. So Im going to plumb both valve covers with -12 AN hose to a vented catch can. Here are some progress pics:
