Hey guys well i am within a few days away from ordering a block and i want to make sure i am proceeding the right way. I know i could get more power out of another block or yadda but this is a Simple Budget Build that will be a street car and maybe see the Track once or twice to just get some #'s. I could go and buy this Local 347 already built but i would rather have a less powerful motor and know that it was put together right. I am going with the Block Paul pointed out to me as a good simple block.

LMR Economy 5.0 Block

Heads i am going with some GT40P that will be ported

Cam is going to be a TFS stage 2

Intake will be a GT40 unless i can find a good deal on something else. The lower will be port matched and the TB will also be matched as well.

I am hoping to be able to find a Matching Catted Short Midpipe to match the Mac LT's i found locally. I would get a O/R X and use it then switch for inspection.

Help me with all the little bits and pieces if you would please. I have been looking at Roller Rockers but i would like some more insight.

you will need to notch the pistons or you will have ptv clearance issues...

Might just go with a Smaller Lift cam then just so i don't have to deal with any of that.

I agree about the cam, being a bit bog for combo. TFS 1 may suite it better. Or if you could find the Lunat1 51014, that would be a good cam for combo.. But with budget in mind the TFS stage 1 most likely best bet, since it os ver cost effective. Alot of people down the FMS alphabet cams, but they do work good with combos liek you have planned. Built a couple motors with on a budget for guys using GT40 heads Cobra/Explorer intake and either the E or F cam and they pull real good. Real fun cars to run around town in..

Matter of fact building somethingsimilar for my 94GT.. I am adding GT40 aluminumm X-303 heads, crane gold 1.6 rockers, SVO/Cobra intake and a TFS stage one cam to a stock bottom end. That should be a fun daily driver....

TFS Stage 2 cam is WAY to big for GT40 heads.

TFS 1 works really well with the GT40 heads.

As of right now i am ditching this build i found a 302 bored .30 over with forged Pistons GT40X heads Lunati cam, Tubular GT40 Upper within 2 hours from me. I put a Deposit on it to hold it till i can get down and drive the car before the motor is pulled out.

Duration makes valves hit pistons, not lift. Just FYI.
