Just did the tip of the valve sharpie thing to check the pushrod length.

I just wanted another set of eyes to check this out, prefferrably someone with lots of experience :icon_rr:

The lines look close to center to me, but I am not sure how close it needs to be.

New pictures further down

I also would like a better explanation of setting zero lash, I don't want to be screwing this up. Thanks for all the help guys.

I'll do it with a real camera today, this was with my phone ha. I thought it would be good enough ;p

But now that I got the crank turning tool its easy enough to turn over ha

Ok so the pictures are much better quality, but for some reason the line wasn't cutting as clearly today as it was last night. Just my luck.

But anyways, feel free to help :)

Looks good to me personally. However everyone has different opinions. As long as it's not trying to wear on the very far edge you should be fine.

No worries. I would get more feedback to, I always do when it comes to motors and do my research. No one wants to wear the edge off a valve stem

Doesn't look terrible. Could be more centered. Is the pattern more towards the inside or outside of the motor? The problem you'll run into is the valves will be pushed against the valve guides causing premature wear. Some people have the school of thought to run a slightly shorter pushrod to allow the rocker to be centered on the valve when its at full lift....some think that this nets maximum lift at the valve vice centering the pattern directly over the valve.

Are you using stud mount or pedestal mount rockers? If studs, how many turns are you going after zero lash? Explain exactly how you're setting them (both intake and exhaust) and I'll be happy to let you know if you're going through everything right.

I am using Harland Sharp 1.73:1 pedestal mount rockers. I am having trouble figuring out zero lash because I'm a noob.

I was planning on calling harland sharp at some point next week to get over the phone instruction ha.

But what I did was spin the motor until the valve was all the way up (fully seated) then tightened the rocker down, but sort of just snug.

Then spun once to get the exhaust side seated and did the same, then cranked over twice to let the line get put in place.

And the line is closer to the outside which would make the rods shorter than they need to be I believe, which is strange because I put in a .500 lift cam.
