My autozone battery is slowly getting worse and worse. my car almost dies with the AC on at idle for too long. Before anyone asks yes, i know for sure its the battery.

What is the best battery for my car? I remember jeff had a really small battery that was pretty strong, anyone know of it?

I have an aftermarket head unit, mach 460, and 130 amp alternator. i have a 200 amp that will go on eventually (needs rebuild)

i plan on putting in 1 12" JL audio W6 and amp this summer, so i want a good, strong, reputable battery.

You might have a altenator problem.... take it to the autozone and have them test it.

I had both issues come up on my car! I had an alternator go bad twice. I buy @ O'Reillys and I use their lifetime warranty. I had a cheapo battery go bad about 3 times. I just used their warranty until I could afford a real battery. I bought a Optima Red Top. I should have bought a Yellow Top, but I didn't! It is running fine now.

get an ultralight battery. They're fine as long as you don't like subs and stuff, or leave your accessories/headlights on for hours without the car running. The optima weighs 42 lbs, the ultralights weigh like 12

"new from Autozone" doesn't always equal "good". The electrical parts from the chain stores aren't always the greatest.

If you "know" its the battery, why not just get another one for 45 bucks from a good place rather than spending 130+ bucks for an optima?

I got the best WalMart had, $65.
When it goes, there's got to be a WalMart within walking distance!

Optima yellow top ALL THE WAY!!!!!! I have had mine for a year now and the car still starts faster and lights do not dim and I have a 700watt 4-channel and a 1200 watt 2-channel amp power audiobahn component speakers and an Audiobahn 1600watt 10" Dual voice coil sub. I run with the A/C on and the stereo blasting during 100* days and the stock battery gauge sits dead in the center of the "R".
I am also running a PA Performance 130 alternator. I keep my engine bay spotless and the battery after one year has not left one mess at all, I know its because of the dry cell technology but even when the battery sits in the bearing heat it doesnt get weaker. I have also not cleaned any of the terminals yet. Just another nice tip is the Optima has top and bottom post mounts so what I did was hook all the regular car stuff to the top post and then mount all the stereo equipment to the side post and it works perfect.

Good Luck, the Optima is the way to go hands down. It'll pay for itself!!!

Exactly... I have Wally World batterys in all my cars now. Can't really beat it for 45 bucks each. And they're made by Johnson Controls... so they aren't the crappiest things out there either.

Oh well...

Go to Wal-Mart and buy an Everstart battery. They are made By DeKa battery for Wal-Mart. East Penn Manufacturing (Deka Battery) is one of my customers and I have seen Everstart batteries in the warehouse awaiting shipment. I have had one in my car for over 2 years.
