You will have an exhaust shop weld a bung in to the pipe. You can read where the wideband would like the sensor to be placed. 14point7 also sells the gauge to go with that setup. I just purchased one, but haven’t installed it yet.

And ya want the bung to be welded on the down pipe coming from your exhaust manifold so condensation can't collect on the sensor. I think ya also want to have it on the passenger side.

Hi all just an update on what I’ve been up to.
I’m now at +2 degrees on the global timing and plus 2 degrees more on the WOT timing above what the diablosport tune is.
I still think there a lot more the engine can give me but here’s my timing at the moment. Cruise is around the 44 to 46 degrees BTDC mark.
Here’s my WOT timings at different rpms.

RPMS. TIMING BTDC
1550. 10.25
1750. 11.25
1800. 12.25
1900. 14.25
2000. 16.25
2200. 17.25
2400. 18.25
2600. 18.5
2800. 18.5
3000. 18.5
3200. 18.5
3400. 18.5
3600. 18.5
3800. 18.5
4000. 18.5
4200. 18.5
4400. 18.75
4600. 19.5
4800. 21.25
5000. 22.75
5200. 23.25
5400. 23.75
5600. 24.25
5800. 24.75
6000. 24.75
6200. 24.75
6400. 24.5
6600. 20.25

I don’t know why there is no ignition timing advance between 2600 and 4200 rpm?
It’s just stuck at 18.5 degrees BTDC. I do not have the ability to get in to the system to sort this out, all I can do it advance or retard the timing by a set about in block. For example I can add or retard timing in the 2-4K range and 4-6k range so if I add more timing of let’s say just 2 degrees in the 2-4K rpm block the hole range goes up. I would like to be able to increase or decrease the timing at least every 200 rpm. Does anyone know why diablosport have frozen the timing in this rpm range?

It cost more money for a tuner package that "gives" the capability to incrementally adjust timing. You may want to look into what diablo offers for upgrades.

Secondly, the modular platforms are very efficient. Fuel injection, tiny bores, maximized fuel/air mix through the intake port and in cylinder motion all equate to a more ideal timing curve. Not 30degree advance like the old dinosaur engines. Usually 20-25degree advance is about max for a modular.

Also dont judge an engines performance capabilities by how much advance timing can be had. Advancing the timing is a clear indication of inefficiency somewhere. It may be rich mixture, stagnant mixture, to high of octane.

Well I’ve today tried upping the timing two more degrees in the 4-6k rpm range and didn’t notice any agains, then I upped it one more degree and was aiming for a 27 degree max BTDC but noticed that the timing was actually a lot lower and was only hitting 23 degrees BTDC, so dropped it back down for a target of 25 degrees BTDC and I was getting that so I’m guessing the computer was pulling timing due to knock possible?
I didn’t hear any but I can’t think of any other reason why the max WOT would lower it’s self even though I was asking for more

Hi all this is just an update on what I’ve found out on the logs.
First I will start with the O2 readings, on the stock tune at WOT they peg out at .946V, on diablosport 87 tune they peg out at .926v and on there 91/93 tune they peg out at .890V.
Now for the ignition timing, first of all I have not done many part throttle pulls BUT I can tell you that the 91/93 diablosport tune pulls better than there 87 and their 87 tune is better than the staticky tune.
Now for the WOT timing, for this is will split the rpm range into to sections, 2k to 4K rpm and 4K to 6k rpm.
2-4K rpm range
The diablosport 87 Pump gas tune has around 1.5 to 1.75 degrees more advanced than stock, the premium 91/93 tune has between 2 to 2.5 degrees more advanced than stock.

now for the 4-6k range
MY stock timing is at 22.25 @ 6000rpm.
87 tune is at 24.5 @ 6000rpm.
91/93 tune is at 26.75 @ 6000rpm.

now the last part, cruising timing.
Stock is around 40-42 BTDC
86 tune 42-44 BTDC
91/93 44-46 BTDC

also I had a go at adding even more timing at the 4-6k rpm range but no matter how much more I had the max I can get it is 27 BTDC. So what is holding the timing back and stopping it advance any more?
Is it that the cars computer just can’t advance and more than 27 BTDC?

Anyway just thought I would shear this finding with you lot

You’re being held back by the tune. When the tuner set it up, they made it adjustable with the handheld but only let you adjust up so far. Don’t get too crazy with timing though, stock pistons are soft and if the detonate, you will break ring lands.
