Hi everyone! I'm the proud owner of my first Mustang, a '96 Laser red GT vert with white interior I picked up for $1600.
It's an automatic with faded paint, but for the price, I'm not complaining. Can't wait to get to know it better. :D

Nice grab, especially for that price. $1600 around here gets you a junkyard car. How many miles? Anything done to it as of now?

Give it time, you'll see Mustangs are the car equivalent of Pringles- "Bet you can't have just one..."

The car is bone stock with 160k miles. It's missing the head unit for the Mach 460 sound system, but other than that is complete. My first plans are to just fix what's broken (AC. pass power window, missing radio) and get it into decent shape.
After that, I'd like to do a manual swap, and focus on getting the car to handle better.
I've built both vintage musclecars (Plymouth Duster and Satellite) and both modern and vintage RWD imports (Datsun Z, 240SX's, and Supras), and so far, the Mustang seems to embody the best of both worlds.

Welcome man, some of the prettiest colors are the one that didn't exactly held up through the years. Yours is #1, laser red is actually an amazing color when repainted but it fades like crazy. I've seen this with laser red, deep forest green, some blues pretty much the metallic colors that Ford came out with. The solid cars didn't get that much a beating as time progress. Overall, good luck with it there aren't many out there any more.
