Bascially, a fuel cut off switch located in the truck of our cars that activates itself event of a accident.

heres something that explains it better than me.

The fuel pump inertia switch will reset if there is a sudden jolt to the car. This is a safety feature. The fuel system is pressurized by the electric fuel pump. In the event of an accident, the fuel pump is turned off to prevent a fire.

Sometimes this switch is reset by a sudden jolt to the car, such as hitting a curb or large object with some force.
