Hey guys. New to the site and I needed some help. I'm about to start building a 351 windsor motor specifically for hill climb and road racing. I'm going to bore the motor 30 over with a 4 inch stroke. This is the rotating assemblies I'm going with.
Scat Engine Rotating Assemblies 1-47353BI.
I'm looking for the best setup possible between cams, heads, and intake. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hello. What kind of rpm you looking for. Hydraulic roller cam I assume. Do you have heads to handle. The 408 demand for good air and lots of fuel. With a 408. You'll need a cam with greater than 245 @ .050. LC AROUND 110. heads and springs will dictate lift. These engine like a lot of lift AFR, RHS, TEA, PROFILER ALL MAKE GOOD HEADS. It just depends on your budget. I run profiler in a drag car. 393w stroker. Small [email protected] cam 110 LC with .600 lift. And with 28" tires, 373 gears 3000 stall. C-6 trans. I've ran a best of 11.55 @ 118 in the qtr. Look at them all. Maybe find a wholesale shop where you can buy direct and have high quality valves and springs. Look at howard's cams. They have a wide selection for the 351 based strokers. If your road racing has short straights and a lot of curves. The edelbrock air gap is a good one. Only issue I have had is. With out porting and a 2" spacer the air gap tends to hit a wall at about 6000 rpm. The victor junior is a great choice . power nation, Built a nice 408 and it cam was nearly same as my 393. Similar heads. Same cfm carb. And it hit a wall at 5900. Just changing the intake. Gained them nearly 1000 rpm and near 100 hp. Remember a engine is just an air pump. The more efficient the better.
