Hey guys, I was just on joeheckracing.com website and they have polished aluminum valve covers made specifically for 94-95 mustang gt's and cobras and state they will fit most aftermarket roller rockers. Just wanted to know if anyone knows anything about these and if they have to be modified in any way to fit with the alternator. I think the price was around 150.00, on the website the covers are listed under joe heck racing specialty items, check em out, let me know what yas think!

Usually stock valve covers with the baffle ground out fit 1.7s... Or you can just run 2 VC gaskets... I dunno this problem has pissed off many a 94/95 owner for some time...

Its not the manifold thats give your problems. It's the alternator bracket that sits back too far. Go look at it right now and see how much the alternator sits back over your passenger side valve cover. I have trick flows on mine now but I had to "massage" them like a son of a bitch to fit them.

Just installed cheap, $40, chrome Moroso tall covers on my 1.7 roller rockered 347. Squeezed past the alternator, but did have to do some grinding on lower bolt bracket on the EGR. Additionally, for clearance had to install 3/8 spacer on PP intake.

Hmmm well I forgot to use one of my converted solid lifters to measure rocker arm clearance on the passenger's header and I'm using 1.7s. I did check with just the regular lifter and it cleared but who knows how much it compressed the lifter... I guess while its right there and will take 2 minutes to remove I might as well double up the gasket on that side with a metal cored rubber fel pro I have lying around. I don't want to have to pull the whole upper intake back off once I get the car running to fix a damn valve cover clearance issue.
