Hey all....Just installed my new Pypes catback. I am very satisfied with the sound and overall quality, but after installation I noticed the tips are touching my rear bumper. I tried loosening the clamps on the mufflers to make adjustments and also at the mid-pipe, but it just seems to want to stay right where it sits.....Against the friggin bumper :tickedoff: Anyone have any suggestions? Any tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Knuckles' idea is your best bet, I also have Pypes cat-back. one of my tips is within 1/8" of the bumper. Or you can unbolt the cat-back at the midpipe and try to adjust that way.

Yeah...I tried to unbolt it now about three times and stabilized it with a jack under the x-pipe while I tightened it back down and as soon as I remove the jack, it just settles right back where I started. I'm thinking the hangers will be a good idea next....Thanks for the input guys. If all else fails, there's always beer. Goldmember, if I can only get it to around where yours is sitting at, 1/8, or so, do you think it'll still eventually burn the paint?

Okay so after a buddy and I wrestled around with the pipes and made some minor adjustments, we managed to get them away from the bumper but they're still kinda close. They are around a pinky fingers width away from the bumper. Is this going to be far enouph so that it won't burn the paint? I've driven it a few times since and haven't noticed it burning anymore. What do you guys think?

That should be enough of a gap. Your problem highlights one of the issues I have with Pypes, plain and simple you get what you pay for. Low cost but poor fitment. Neither of my tails are in perfect alignment and the drivers' side tip is hitting the bumper, but just barely. No issues with burning the paint though...

my stock one rested up against my paint for a few months it didn't do anything, it just rubbed alittle bit of paint of the bottom of it no burning it or whatever

Yeah that's plenty of room.

Hey thanks for the input guys...Just concerned because I only had them repainted last year and didn't want a new paint job screewed up because I left the tails too close. Thanks again!

You should be fine with that clearance...do you have any pics? I LOVE when the tips are close to the bumper, they look like shit when they hang down.

I don't have any pics right now...I don't really have a camera, so I have to rely on friends when I want pics, but I'll get some as soon as possible.
