new setup trouble

94 cobra trickflow twisted wedge heads 1.7 crane rockers tfs stage one cam tfs trackheat intake 24 lbs injectors. car runs funny and pops back through the intake when cram to the floor but when ease into it it does fairly decent. timeing set at 13 it pops and when i turn timing up to 20 it doesnt pop but has a lag to it....any ideas

yea pops through the intake, also has alot of surging when normal driving, what i have discovered so far. the dizzy may be bad due to sometimes when i turn it the car shuts down like the keys turn off, then turnin it while key is in on position and car is off the fuel punmp kicks on. ok now sometimes the alt lights blinks and all gauges except gas gauge jumps around, maybe loose groung

do you have stock pistons? with 1.7 rockers? and you dont have any clearence issues?

I was going to ask that myself. 1.7's with the TFS1 Cam and those heads I didnt think was possible with stock Pistons....

no stage one has no probs its the stage two that you have to be carefull with

Boy did thid post take a wrong turn lol..

I would start by taking a can of carb cleaner and spraying it around the motor and see if the idle raises. Where you spray the cleaner and it raises, you have found a vaccum leak.

Then go from there. Sounds to me like you have some kind of electrical problem also..

First of all, check your chassis ground (the one that goes from the block to the frame).
When you say 13 and 20 degrees, is that base timing or locked?

did you mess with fuel pressure? if you did, put it back to stock.

did you change the mass air to match the 24's?

stock cobra have 24lbs and are already matched fuel psi is at 36 and ive tried at other psi, far as vacum leaks it idles fine so i dint never fiqure a vacum leak but ill check
